Summerhill donates $3,901 to Western Chances

Helping people achieve their goals is what Summerhill Financial Services does. So it makes sense for us to support a community program with the same aim.

Western Chances helps talented and self-motivated young people in Melbourne’s western suburbs to realise their potential. Since 2003, it has awarded 1,430 scholarships to 599 young people, with an average value of $1,000 per grant each year. This means they’ve invested more than $1 million directly to young people.

Summerhill Financial Services Principal Caroline Bell says, “Summerhill does not accept investment product commissions. Sometimes though, the most appropriate financial product for a client offers commission. Whenever this is the case, and we can’t rebate it back to the client, we’ll donate the commission to Western Chances.

“We’re proud to have contributed by donating $3,901.70 for the 2009 financial year to help ensure the future sustainability of Western Chances’ scholarship program.

“This is a great increase on our 2008 financial year total of $1,969.32.”
