Change to your Emerging Markets Trust Investment Strategy
For those clients who have an investment portfolio managed by Summerhill Financial Services, a change is being made to the Dimensional Emerging Markets Trust, which is summarised below.
Dimensional will be transitioning the Emerging Markets Trust from a strategy that purchases the securities of large companies only to one that purchases the securities of value companies, both large and small.
As this fund represents a relatively small portion of most clients’ total investment portfolio (including Summerhill clients), Dimensional believe it makes sense to have a more tilted exposure to value companies for a higher long term return than is achieved with a large-only approach.
The change will enable the Trust to seek higher returns consistent with a value strategy while maintaining a broadly similar level of diversification and expected volatility.
There will be no change to the management fee for this Trust.
This change to the fund’s investment strategy will be implemented as market circumstances allow and in a manner consistent with the patient and disciplined approach that is applied to our client’s portfolios.
