Why is Summerhill Financial Services the right partner for you?

When looking for a financial adviser, you should assess what qualities and characteristics are important to you - both in the adviser and the type of advice you want to receive. We believe that the factors below are important considerations, and differentiate us to many other financial advisers.


Privately Owned and Licensed

We are privately owned by the Principal and have our own Australian Financial Services Licence (AFSL No: 300038). Summerhill Financial Services has no affiliation to any institution or product provider.  This is an important consideration to ensure that the advice provided is most appropriate for you, and not being influenced by another institution.


Fee for Service

Because we have no affiliation to particular institutions or product providers, we are a fee-for-service business. Sometimes, however, the most appropriate investment product for a client offers commission. Whenever this is the case, we rebate the commission from the investment back to you, so it reduces the investment fee charged by the fund, or you get additional units. Where a commission can’t be rebated, we will donate it to Western Chances, a charity. Western Chances helps young people in Melbourne's western suburbs to realise their potential by providing scholarships and other related programs. Fees can a be fixed dollar amount or a percentage of assets invested, or a combination of the two. This will depend on the service provided and the most appropriate fee structure for each client.  A written fee proposal, clearly explaining your personal fee structure, is always provided before a client commits to anything. 

Summerhill Financial Services does not charge entry or exit fees, nor do we use investment products that do. We also do not charge implementation fees.


Proactive Communication

We believe communication is a key factor in building a long-term relationship. We are on hand to answer any of your queries as they arise, and will contact you to regularly review your financial strategy and plan ahead.

We know that meeting your lifestyle requirements is a key objective in any financial plan. We work with you to help build wealth, but also assist you in planning the best way to manage wealth to ensure your lifestyle is what you want it to be.


Comprehensive Advice

We provide comprehensive financial strategy advice, not just investment advice. As a result, not all of our clients have investment portfolios to manage. As part of our long-term approach, we work with clients - and their children - to provide a financial coaching role as wealth is passed down to the next generation.
